After qualifying with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from Edinburgh in 1984, I moved to Snettisham in Norfolk to work as an associate general practitioner at The Grange Dental Practice, a very busy single handed NHS surgery where I quickly gained experience in all the types of dental treatment normally carried out in a general practice.
In 1991 I became a partner at Riverside Dental Practice, replacing Ian Smith when he moved back to work full-time at the Grange. I’ve continued to work at 7b King Street since then, looking after generations of families, many who I have now known for over 30 years.
In 2015, with the retirement of David Moss, the Practice was sold to The Dental Design Studio and I became an associate again, allowing more time to concentrate on patient care rather than the increasing burden of administration.
I continue to have an interest in a wide range of dental disciplines including orthodontics and preventative dentistry.
While still kept very busy at work I like to escape to the mountains of the UK and Europe occasionally to satisfy a passion for rock climbing and winter mountaineering as well as keeping up a lifelong support of the Scottish rugby team, following them around the UK and Europe.
