Meet Our Team

Dr. Paula Miranda
LMD Porto 2000
GDC registration number - 238083

My name is Paula Alexandra Goncalves Miranda and I qualified in Oporto Dentistry School in 2000. At university, I always had a specialist interest in Oral Surgery, Periodontics, orthodontics and implantology, which led me to qualify with honours in these fields.
After graduating, I decided to do a postgraduate in orthodontics and a master's degree in implantology and bone grafts. I have since also completed a 6-month course on smile and Invisalign.

I started working for The Dental Design Studio in 2013 and really enjoy all aspects of my work. In what little spare time I have left, I enjoy running and spending time with my family.

Dr. Margarida Carrilho
LMD Fernando Pessoa 2012
GDC registration number - 257913

I have been a qualified dentist for 5 years after graduating from Fernando Pessoa University in Porto, Portugal. I then went on to complete a 1-year post-graduate degree in the field of clinical dentistry. Then to further my education, I became a teaching assistant in prosthodontics for 2 years. I have been with both DDS in Scunthorpe and Gainsborough since October 2015. In my spare time I enjoy travelling, reading and DIY furniture

Susan Goldie
Dental Nurse & Receptionist

I am one of our longest standing members of the practice, with 30 years’ experience in the dental industry. I have been at the Ashby Road practice for 17 years, serving the Dental Design Studio for just under 5 years. Since being employed by the Dental Design Studio in 2013, I have greatly developed my dental knowledge and I.T. capabilities.

In my personal time, I love to work on my award-winning countryside garden. I greatly enjoy entertaining with my husband and son, although much of my present time at home is taken up by caring for my new addition to the household - Rolo, the Dachshund.

Lisa Beanlands
Dental Nurse

My name is Lisa and I started working in this practice in 2010 as a trainee dental nurse. I attended college in Grimsby 2 nights a week and was qualified 18 months later. I love dental nursing because no two days are the same, there’s always something new. Nowadays I’m mainly on reception and have enjoyed the change, though I do love getting back into my scrubs and getting in on the action. I enjoy spending time with my family and socialising. I also run my own aquatic business and have a very successful shop located in Scunthorpe.

Amy Morris
Dental Nurse

My name is Amy and I have been a qualified dental nurse for just over a year now, though I have worked in the dental industry for 3 years in trainee/admin roles. I joined the DDS Scunthorpe team in December 2016 as a newly qualified dental nurse and have thoroughly enjoyed my time here. In my spare time, I love to play rugby, I am a winger in the Scunthorpe Ladies team and love training and playing in matches.

Sophie Cowling
Student Dental Nurse

I’m Sophie and I am the newest member of the DDS Scunthorpe team. I am most looking forward to starting my dental nurse trainee course. I am mainly working on reception at this moment in time, I am thrilled with the thought of going into surgery.

In my spare time, I enjoy going to festivals, traveling and socialising with friends.

Olivia Whittingham
Student Dental Nurse

I’m Olivia and I’m currently halfway through my training course to become a qualified dental nurse. I’m loving it so far and can’t wait to be qualified. I’ve been with the DDS Scunthorpe since April 2017 - I really like the place, the people and I’m excited for the future within the company.

In my spare time, I care and look after my Horse Jez and helping my partner out with his dog shelter. Besides this, I also love socialising and going out with my friends.

Laura Rogers
Dental Nurse

Hi, I’m Laura and I am a new member of the Dental Design Studio team. I started working part time for DDS in June 2017 and have loved every minute of it.

I have been working in dentistry since 2011 and qualified as a nurse in 2014. I very much enjoy my job and have managed to work in many different areas of the industry over the last 6 years, I love expanding my knowledge of dentistry and genuinely find what I do very interesting.

When I am not at work, I spend most of my time going to dance classes and varying outdoor activities with my 3-year-old daughter. When I do have a chance to catch my breath, I enjoy going to the theatre, anything art-related, cooking, outdoor activities such as climbing, cycling, and long walks usually with a lot of puddle splashing.
