GDC Registration Number 78631

I qualified in June 2000 at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa and, after completing a years’ service in South Africa community hospital, I relocated to the UK in 2001.

I have a particular interest in IV sedation, oral surgery and implantology and have gained vast experience in all of these fields over the years. I have advanced my knowledge and skills by obtaining a degree in implantology at the prestigious Lille University in France in 2009 and by completing numerous hours in post-graduate courses to stay abreast with the latest techniques.

My passion and skill in implant dentistry has enabled me to literally change the lives of many patients by rebuilding their whole smile with dental implants. These beautiful life-changing smiles can only be achieved by having an extensive knowledge of dental implants, crowns, bridges and smile makeovers.

I am a member of SAAD (Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry), ADI (Association of Dental Implantology), EAO (European Association for Osseointegration), AO (American Academy of Osseointegration), BDA (British Dental Association) and GDC (General Dental Council).

Don’t let missing teeth limit your life

If you are missing any of your natural teeth, implant dentistry can provide you with teeth that look and feel like your very own. Permanent replacement teeth can be yours without the embarrassment of loose dentures or having to cut into other healthy teeth in your mouth. Implants will enable you to enjoy the simple pleasures of unrestricted eating. With Dental Implants you can have the confidence to pursue an active business and social life.

Dental Implants preserve facial bone, whereas conventional dentures or alternatives usually lead to accelerated bone loss and facial changes associated with ageing.

What are Dental Implants?

Dental Implants are Titanium posts with specially activated surfaces. They are placed (implanted) into your jawbone to function in a similar way to a natural tooth root. Your bone grows onto the implants in a process called OSSEOINTEGRATION. After a few months the implants will form a permanent part of your body, provided there are no complications.

The Benefits of Dental Implants:

  • Implants look and feel just like natural teeth – you shouldn’t notice any difference.
  • Implants provide permanent stability and comfort without affecting healthy teeth.
  • Implants won’t come loose or fall out.
  • Implants can last for many years if you maintain good oral hygiene.
  • Implants prevent ageing bone loss, by stimulating your bone structure and stabilising the surrounding teeth.

What are the different types of Implants?

Single Implant

If you are missing a single tooth, then a dental implant is the closest thing to the original tooth that you can get. It offers a natural look and will not move whilst you eat allowing you to chew and eat the foods you always have enjoyed.  A single titanium screw is placed in your jaw bone on to which a false tooth is then placed.

Dental Implant Bridge

Dental implants are not only used to replace single teeth and can also be used to replace multiple missing teeth

Unlike a traditional bridge a dental implant bridge uses two or more implants to hold 3 or more teeth in place, and means that surrounding healthy teeth are not sacrificed to retain the bridge in place.

All on four Implants

All on four implants, sometimes referred to as same day teeth, involves four implants being placed to hold a full arch of teeth, which can be attached the same day. The result is achieved by placing two straight implants at the front of the mouth and two implants in the back placed at an angle up to 45°. Not all people would be suitable for this treatment, we will be able to advise you further.

Dental Implant Dentures

A number of factors such as receding bone and gums or the ineffectiveness of denture adhesive means that dentures can slip making chewing hard or in some cases dentures may even fall out. Fixed teeth function much better and give you the confidence to eat, chew, laugh and smile. That is why more and more people are moving to implants as a way of securing their dentures.

How much do Dental Implants cost?

Dental implants start from £1999 but the cost will vary from patient to patient. However, our Clinic Managers and our Implant Surgeons will give you a written clear break down following your consultation so you will know exactly what you are paying for and why. As implant treatment can take several months you can pay installments depending on what stage of your treatment plan you are at. We also offer affordable finance – please see our finance page

Testimonials

Professional Service

“I have just completed a treatment programme which involved removal of an un-restorable lower incisor and implant of a porcelain bonded cantilever bridge. The whole process was preceded by a clear treatment assessment plan outlining costs, time frames and possible problems in the autumn. Everything went well and, although not an inexpensive process, payments were staggered over the three main phases which occurred over a little under 6 months. I am 67 years and felt throughout my welfare was paramount and all Covid 19 precautions were adhered to. Many thanks from me about the professionalism shown and frankly the good humour of Paul Niland and the team”.
